Lee, Joshua Chamberlain, James Longstreet, also, John Buford. The sentiments and inward considerations of each General and the states of the fight are seen, heard, and felt by the peruser in the verifiable record. Shaara takes authentic permit with letters, the expressions of the men, and archives composed during the three horrible days of the fight. Shaara stays away from chronicled feeling and gives his own supposition towards the Civil War and the individuals. A man of goals and respect speak to the character of Union Colonel Joshua Chamberlain.
